Alright y'all! Y'all know I've been diving into my skincare game this year! And, I really just starting to skim the top of all this stuff.  So, I was super pumped when the Blue Valley Dermatology team invited me into their brand spanking new office to learn all about what they do and all the services that they offer! Like, okay! I'm so down to learn and see what they're all about have them help me, so I can help y'all too! That makes me the happiest, is to get information I can share with y'all. As I basically feel like non-official expert that loves to figure it all out and spell it out for y'all! To make this place a spot where you can come and just find out all the things!

All I knew before going in is that they offer great skin treatments and botox, but wasn't quite sure where to start. But, I did know they are first and foremost a medical practice. Dr Kyle is at the office every day overseeing her team and providing expert guidance on how to manage each patient's unique skin. And she not only treats adults but the entire family too! That's right, you can bring your WHOLE family in at one time to get their skin checked up on! All of their injections are performed by either Dr Kyle or the Nurse Practitioners. For those who are unfamiliar with what a NP is, they are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses who have completed an advance degree in nursing and have been certified by their governing board. Their patients know they will provide recommendations on products as well as offer services that extend beyond the medical side of their practice.  The aesthetic/cosmetic side of their practice is a natural fit for a medical dermatology office and both compliment each other very well. Plus, they are family owned practice, which I love because it makes me feel like I am helping a family too, not just some huge med spa. And that they would be the perfect place for me to start, and they would suggest a game plan of what I should do to make my skin the healthiest! And that they did!!

I met with their esthetician and one of the first things she told me, was her 3 things that everyone should put on their skin everyday. So, if you all need to know what to do, these three things are what you can do at a minimum:

  • Sunscreen
  • RetinA
  • Vitamin C serum

She also recommended putting a shot glass of sunscreen head to toe everyday (cute right!?) and reapply with sprays and wear mineral makeup (because it is a physical block against sun damage, already built in it)!

She then showed me the SkinBetter Science products as well as their private label of skincare they created because they'd found holes in the market, and offer these items that actually CHANGE your skin. As most skincare items you buy over the counter, they don't actually change your skin. Which I thought was pretty incredible. So, they offer:

  • Sunscreen and Skincare
  • Hyaluronic Acid - binds moisture to the skin and plumps - great for hydration without oil! Woop!
  • Vitamin C serum
  • Eye creams
  • Lines - A topical filler for fine lines, ta-ta crows feet!
  • Retinoids, such as RetinA or Retinol
  • HQRA - to fade sun spots, Hydrocortisone, Hydroquinone and Kojic Acid, which are excellent for melasma
  • Needle Free Serum
  • Botox -
  • IPL photo-rejuvenation treatments

And here's what we did while I was at Blue Valley Dermatology:

1. Took my makeup off, of course. As it would be kind of hard to really get my face together with it all covered.

2. Epionce cleanser - to clean it all up and freshen the skin!

3. Lavender hot towel and facial massage - was incredible!!!

4. Alcohol to degrease - this too was surprisingly refreshing and smelled good to me (no idea why, I think I might be alone on this one, haha).

5. Dermaplaning - the main service of my visit, where the esthetician manually removed the top/dead layer of skin with a surgical blade that creates a healthy glow with maximum exfoliation! And it feels so incredible when the peach fuzz is gone, and the makeup application is heavenly afterwards!

Sensi peel PCA skin - this is great for brightening for even the most sensitive skin! Woop!

Calming Balm - she put this on to cool down my skin.

Replenishing gel - is so great for hydrating the skin! Especially after doing all the things to my skin, this is super helpful!

Advanced Treatment Booster - It includes a Retinoid and collagen boost for cell turn over boost and retina cell turn over treatment too!

HA Physical Tint with SPF - this Hyaluronic acid SPF made my skin feel amazing and I'm so glad it included SPF because after this treatment your skin is like baby skin and needs extra protection.

PCA lip treatment - this felt really good right at the end!

This was such an incredible treatment that is so wonderful for everyone! There's no recovery time, you just need to wear sunscreen and moisturizers for sure!

Now I've using their SkinBetter Science and private label skincare items for about 4 weeks, you can pick up these products in the the office!

Instant Effect Eye Gel 2x a day ($85) - anyone can use this! It's so cooling and rolls on so well. It's the white little eye treatment I'm using in the photos above! I love this stuff a lot!

AlphaRet cream at night ($110) - even those who have Rosacea can use it!

Lines Gel Serum ($125) - first thing in the morning, topical filler that literally fills in ALL the lines! It's a no brainer for sure!

I've really noticed such a huge change in my skin since going into Blue Valley Dermatology!
