the hubs and i were fortunate to join our youth group on a fellowship trip to chicago last week! we went last year for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and jumped at the chance to do it again. we accompanied about 30 youth and our church's interns and ministers for the weekend. we jumped all over downtown, starting at the bean, blue man group, the navy pier, a speed boat ride (i got drenched from head to toe, pretty hysterical), china town, and shopping! (of course). i have to say it was pretty intimidating getting to be in charge (along with the interns) of all the girls on the trip, navigating downtown chi-town seemed to be quite the task. but we made it back to the church just in time to scarf down some chicago style pizza (amazing). i have to say it was a pretty amazing trip and getting spend time with our youth and dig deep into engaging our communities around us was pretty inspiring. plus i gave a sermon (talk about nervous) about how to live in a dead world. definitely a bold topic (hence the nervousness) but i shared how i deal my stress and the worries i have and how to focus on the good. it's all good after all, right!?

i hope this encourages you to step out side your comfort zone and do something that will help you grow.

ps - thanks claire for taking my photos for this post. great job!
