This is just one of those looks I go to over and over again. A neutral plaid shirt (I'm a bigger fan of black and white vs. blues, greens, or reds...for plaid shirts anyways) kinda girl. And these cords add a nice but subtle pop of color. I grabbed this pair almost 3 years ago from J.Crew and man I love them. I linked to a super similar pair at J.Crew Factory and regular J.Crew above. For a girl that's not super into red I can definitely dig a deep merlot or maroon color. The grey suede booties and grey scarf really pull it all together, dontcha think??
