The Bloom Academy Workshop
Alright y'all - if you follow me on Instagram than you know that a few weeks ago I had the awesome opportunity to attend the The Bloom Academy workshop. It was a truly awesome event where Emily taught us how to create an arrangement from scratch. I have to say - I always love the look of fresh flowers - but am intimidated by all the different kinds and then trying to figure out how to arrange them - just seems daunting. You feel me? Well that's basically Emily's whole concept with her Bloom Academy membership. But before I dive into the services she offers, I want to tell you all about this awesome event and why you should attend the next one.
So the event kicked off at the River Market Event Space with yummy treats from Moxie Catering and gorgeous photos from Cornerstone Photography and great convos with my girlfriends and blogger loves. Then Emily showed us how to create the perfect little green nest for our arrangement. She poked and added filler flowers to make the arrangement look full and beautiful. Perfectly she cut her flowers to just the right lengths showing us all how to do it, and then placing them in just the right places in the bouquet. She is one talented lady and I am super excited to learn more about floral arrangement from her online Bloom Academy classes.
This is a subscription based site, where people will pay a small fee, and in return will get a year of online access to tutorials, step by steps, recipes, tips, resources and more, all pertaining to floral design. It's like 6 months of online workshops. All of this floral information is organized in one neat place and easy for members to access and reference whenever they want to make flowers for entertaining, styling, or just everyday enjoyment. Plus they also get access to me, as I'm open to answering any of their floral design questions.
So here's the "easy" steps of how we created just the right floral arrangement:
1. Create a green "nest" out of the greenery in your arrangements
2. Add in filler flowers to create an even more stable nest for your flowers
3. Properly chop your flowers to the correct height and place in your arrangement
Oh and a fun tip I learned afterwards - create a color scheme that fits yours personality. I didn't really think about that before I created my arrangement. I just grabbed all the flowers I really liked and placed them in the vase with Emily guidance and suggestions.
I can't wait to show you more things I learn from her. But if you're dying to learn more about floral arranging from Emily go ahead and sign up for The Bloom Academy online. She's always available for any questions you have and so excited to help you love floral arranging as much as she does!
xo,
