New Year New Look with Town Center

Strobing...like a normal person

Getting your make up done should be the most fun you have in an afternoon. So, I'm here to tell you what to ask for and what trends to try and those to avoid.

Try: Strobing

It's basically the new "contour" but with more highlighting all over your face. No, not totally literally. But, pretty close. Here's how to achieve it. Put your make up on like normal: foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, lipstick. If you aren't doing those things, call Sephora right now and let them fix you up. THEN you add highlighter on your checks, top of your nose, middle of your forehead, tip of your chin, and even the very top of your upper lip. This makes these areas stand out more and make you look more radiant.

Brown and caramel eye make up

I just love this eye shadow they used! Pretty, right!?

Don't try: Popsicle

This sounds nuts, but we tried it and honestly my lips are just to thin for this trend to work, even after plumping them up a little bit. So here's how you do it. You put a richer red lipstick on the interior of your lips, then line the outerish areas with a white lip stick (yes these exhist and no i had no idea) and then blend these babies together. Yep it looks like you just ate a popsicle.

Here are my favorite products they used on me for the look above:

How to Strobe - with product from Sephora

Red lipstick | White lipstick | Mascara | Pantone lipstick

Eye shadow palette | Concealer | Highlighter

And I talked with the owner of Parlor about her hair tips for the new year and thought they were amazing:

1. Don't use dry shampoo when your hair is still wet from your lunch hour yoga sesh.

2. Change up your part (I did last year, and it was amazing). It's definitely a commitment but the easiest way to update your look without overhauling everything!

3. Go in for a style and get the royal treatment from the Parlor team!
