What to wear when you meet Kate Spade + Special Announcement

When Kate Spade (now Valentine, more on that in a few) says she's coming to Kansas City to premiere her new shoe and handbag line Frances Valentine at Hall's. You MAKE IT HAPPEN! And once it's on your calendar you obviously need to pick out an outfit, right!? Let's talk about how intimidating this felt. I mean, hello, it's Kate-Freaking-Spade! So I started with this midi skirt that is an oldie but a goodie and knew it felt classy enough yet cool, just like her. I then tried on a bunch of different tops and knew it needed to be something with with some sassy. And one thing this top has is sass!! Then leopard of course had to be added and a Kate Spade handbag of course!
I actually felt a bit conflicted about this because Kate Spade, well now she is Kate Valentine, and she has not owned her name sake, like that we all know and love, for years! But I also felt like it would be WEIRD if I didn't! So I wore it!
And then I went over to Hall's with one of my best friends and stood in line just dying to meet THE KATE SPADE! And we finally got to meet her and she was absolutely DARLING! And I really mean it. I'm sure we talked about how great she is and how much we love the line and how my favorite pair of shoes from her collection are sold out. They are really great, right!? But it was just so amazing to meet her and get to chat even for a second! Oh, and I might have told her that I was a "Cait/Kate" too! She seemed to dig that.
Okay so back to Kate Spade's new name. So, we all know her beloved identifiable brand but now she has launched her new brand Frances Valentine! So nowwwww she's changed her name to Kate Valentine! Cute right!? Frances is a name from her mother's side of the family while Valentine is her grandfather's middle name - as he was born on Valentine's Day. So cool! I dig the name for sure! What do you think of the new brand?
And finally the Mr. and I have some huge news!! We are so excited to announce we are expecting our first little bundle this October!
We are so excited and I can't wait to share this journey with you! I'm really looking forward to sharing the experience of what I've been wearing in the first trimester to how we told our parents to what we are registering for. I will of course show you all what pieces to shop and how to style them too! I'm so excited to start this new journey with you all!
Now we just have to wait to see what we're having, only 8 more weeks!!
