I feel like I started planning Bennett's first birthday as soon as I left his 9 month doctor's appointment. It might sound extreme, but I am such a procrastinator that I knew if I didn't get started asap, that it would be like the week of and I'd be super mad at myself for not doing it well. So, I will be sharing ALL the detes from his party super soon, as I want to help those new mamas with what I wanted to know and had a hard time figuring out.

But, for today, I wanted to share what I wore to my sweet Bennett's first birthday! I knew that I wanted to wear something that felt comfortable, easy to move in, and was still cute and felt like me! It sounds pretty east, right!? But, I actually had a really hard time finding something that made me feel that way. So, I had a back up idea of a grey tee and black jeans, but it just didn't feel special enough. Ya know!?  I happened to be shopping for a client when I spotted this off-the-shoulder floral dress and immediately loved it. But, I had told myself that I didn't want to get something off-the-shoulder, because it's so impractical and hard to keep in place. But, I did love the colors and the length I knew would be great to bending down and moving around with Bennett...

So, the night before his party, I decided I needed it. Anyone else do stuff like this? My sister and I went up to the store, and I tried it on. I started lifting my arms up and then bending down to see how it would do with all of the party activities, and I was presently surprised. It looked super cute when I lifted up my arms and bent down and just tried all the crazy angles. Oh, and then my sister told me how skinny I looked in this! I was immediately sold!

And truly I felt awesome during the whole party and it definitely made the day even more special! I can't wait to share the rest of Bennett's birthday with y'all soon!
