Kansas City Fashion Week kicked off their week of events and runway shows at a hot new store in town, Kindred! I love the owners and creators of this new store and am excited to share them with you! Kindred is a brand new concept of shopping in KC, and it's just so innovative! So, if you've been to a vintage consignment store of home goods, than you know that stores have been renting out space to vendors for ever. Well, Kindred is taking that concept to the next level. Now they're merchandising all the merchandise together to look like one cohesive store. And it is one heck of a store! They have over 16 different vendors including women's fashion, jewelry, vintage clothing, and home goods that all go so well together!
It's a huge store y'all, so be prepared before you go! Have a handy list of the items you are on the hunt for, because you will definitely find it! They have the cutest and trendiest pieces. So if you are on the hunt for a dress to wear to a wedding or a bridal shower, or just need a few pieces to update your wardrobe for spring and summer, you should definitely check out Kindred! I found a bunch of great pieces quickly while I was there! But, go to distracted chatting with the other bloggers and sipping on mimosas and nibbling on bites from Dolce to try everything on. (I know some of y'all are shocked!). I mean I was too!
Now to what I wore. As a mom, I feel like it's hard to find clothes that really make me "feel like me" - whatever that means...but for this event I knew I wanted / had to seize the opportunity to dress up and get together with my friends, so I wanted to make it count! But to be honest, I usually wear/buy some fun and wild pieces just for KCFW and this year I didn't. So, I was kind of lost on what to wear, and what would be "just right" for this event. And I ended up wearing something that I feel is just me, right now. A great fitting pair of high waisted jeans (currently on sale for $39.50), a feminine flowy top, a structured jacket, and glamorous accessories! And that's just the best when you look good, because you feel good too!
So, take the time to figure out what makes you feel you best, and just keep on wearing ALL of those things, and shopping for all of those things!
xo,
