I hope y'all are getting excited for the holidays as I am! I love getting to unplug and just hang with the family. And with Bennett getting to be a little bit older now (he's only 13 months, but still) it's so fun to see him experience things for the first time and enjoy these special moments! Especially hosting, we LOVE to entertain! For real, it is something we don't get to do as often as we used too, but when we do, it really is just so fun! I love planning out who we're going to have over, what we're going to serve (couch, have Kevin cook, cough), and then figure out the decor and serving ware for the evening!
So, for today's post I thought it would be fun to show off a very fun and festive way to set up your dining room with pieces from Crate and Barrel at Town Center Crossing! I have the some pretty basic furniture pieces in our formal dinning room: dining table, chairs, buffet, and bar cart, so I knew could get really creative with the decor. You know how I'm a pretty big fan of everything gold, was so excited to see all the gold options available at Crate and Barrel. I started with the place settings: white plate, black charger, textured plate, teal napkin, gold napkin ring, gold silverware, wine glass, champagne flute, water glass and name card holder. Then moved to the linens: textured table cloth and gray and gold runner. Then to the decorations for the table: candelabra, white candles, large glass vases, medium glass vases, small glass vases, glass ornaments, glass ornaments, glitter ornaments, and flameless candles. I wanted to create a table that felt very glam, sophisticated, and fun, without being too "holidayeeee." Ya know what I mean.
Once all of these pieces were decided on we started thinking and grabbing items for the bar cart. I love the design and details on the brandy bottle, and glasses. The gold cocktail shaker and medium gold lantern with white pillar candles and little glitter ornament looks so nice with the wine decanter, do you think!? I'm a big wine drinker, and just loved how chic this wine rack is along with the cocktail set, and believe it or not, this glitter tree topper! And how chic the gold wreath looks hung above the bar cart- just with a command strip! I thought these were just so gorgeous! And so fun!
That I had to grab two and put one on the buffet table too! This buffet table isn't really all that big so we usually serve drinks and small bites off of it. I started this layout with the glass drink dispenser, the gold stand, classic cups, glitter tree topper, tiered tray, cutting board, gold lantern with white pillar candles, marble bowl, and finally the cheese knives. I love how all the gold elements played so nicely with the white, black, and grays of all the Crate and Barrel decor. And how it all coordinated well with the orange, white, gold and black items already in the dining room! AND of course my outfit! ;)
J.Jill has quickly caught my radar since I checked them out earlier this fall, when they opened their newly renovated space! You know I've got a big affection for the color teal, and fell hard for this duster cardigan as soon as I saw it! I wanted to wear an outfit that would be comfortable and easy to move in, while hosting, and this stripe dress is it! It has pockets (I know, there really isn't anything better, is there!?), I ordered it in a petite just to have it be a touch shorter than the cardigan and love it! And for jewelry I thought these Pomegranate earrings were just too cute, and loved the little pop of red. And the necklace I'm wearing is actually a wrap bracelet! Fun right!? It's hard to tell but I am wear over the knee boots with this outfit and I love how it gives it an immediate trendy feel. Plus they are flat, so they're practical for walking around being a busy host! Perfect right!?
