The one thing about Kansas City, that I love so much is that there is always an event or party to attend, and a great one is happening this weekend, Party Arty. It is not only a wonderful party it's quite a celebration and a fundraiser for The Nelson Atkins museum. Have you been to the Nelson? I'm sure most of you Kansas Citians have, but if you haven't, you must go.  I studied Art History in college, as a part of my Art Studio minor, and this museum's flow of historical exhibits, is incredible. Truly. The first time I went to the Nelson, I was a Senior in college and was like a kid in the candy store. I was blown away with the Egyptian exhibit, and showed my future husband and in-laws how the sculptures show movement, by one foot stepping forward. And then flowing into Roman and Greek sculpture, I was stunned and was so excited to have such an amazing collection of artwork, free to the public, on such a sprawling impeccable grounds in my new home, Kansas City.

So, today I wanted to show you what you should wear to Party Arty this weekend! The theme this year is "Imagine" where "guests will experience an evening of unique and unexpected revelry inspired by avant-garde art." They are encouraging their guests to go for it and go for Dada inspired looks. If you're unsure what the heck Dada is, this is how the Nelson-Atkins team describe it "Dada was an art and literary movement that arose in Europe as a reaction to World War I and the irrational nationalism that many thought had led to the war. Influenced by the other avant-garde movements such as Cubism and Futurism, its output was wildly diverse, raging from performance art to poetry, photography, sculpture, painting and collage..."

I love this event because you can really go as far as you want. You can go long, short, big, refined, and know you'll look great. I pulled together this look from Feng at Town Center Crossing because they always have a killer selection of formal wear. The dress I am wearing is only $126! I was blown away! I then wanted to find a pair of avant garde earrings and a nuetral clutch to pull the whole look together, and they had everything I needed at Feng

I hope you can attend this event this weekend! If you haven't grabbed your tickets yet, be sure do it today! You can grab your tickets here
